Appearance

Nadire has the uncomfortable look of someone who is obviously pretty, but doesn't quite realize it. In her younger years, she was teased because of her weight, plain face and irrepressibly puffy hair. Since then she's slimmed down. She's grown into her features. She's bought a straightening iron. She's not sure these tactics have really worked, but she'll be damned when she stops running from her homely past! Her skin is tan, some might say olive, and her eyes as black as anything. Nadire's short nose (which her glasses always seem to be slipping off of) and little, well-shaped lips appear much smaller than they are because of her round, somewhat chubby face. Reaching to the middle of her back, her black hair is straight, flat and always worn down. Nadire would now be considered by most a cute woman, but hardly a beauty. That sort of upkeep is just too demanding on top of everything else.

Standing at 5'3" and 135 lbs, she has a well-proportioned, round figure. After having beencalled fat by her mother (and everyone else, it seemed) for most of her childhood, Nadire has taken to wearing baggy clothing that she can hide in. Occasionally, she wears mittens in the spring and summer to conceal her short, chubby fingers. She dresses casually, unwilling to make the effort of looking 'decent' for a teaching job. There are more important things, after all.

Background

A native of That Country, Nadire dreamed of the day when she'd see the world! Living in the dorms at Second Heaven convinced her that she'd be perfectly capable of living on her own. Ever since she can remember, she's always been the least favorite child. Her elder brother, he's the charming one, incorrigible in all ways, and her sister, well, she's everything else. Perfect. Nadire's always been the awkward baby of the family. This led her to believe she had something to prove.

After graduating from Second Heaven, Nadire went to university in England. She made a few extremely close friends there, but mostly kept to herself. Towards the end of her graduate career, she became extremely, extremely close with a student from Spain, Anthony. They dated casually for months, until Anthony proposed on bended knee.

Nadire promptly ran away. She was only 27! She had dreams to accomplish! She had yet to live with a pet, how could she take care of a man? She promptly ran home and took a teaching job at her old school. The whole ordeal's put her into a bit of a funk (she briefly considered changing her name), but she hopes that the stint at home will bring her back to her old self.

Personality:

Blessed (or cursed) with an overactive imagination, Nadire has a tendency of getting carried away with herself. If she wasn't interrupted, chances are Nadire would never stop talking. Despite this fact, she is also an exceptional listener, though her demeanor makes most people think otherwise. Her memory is as sharp as a tack, which allows her to throw a plethora of useless facts that she's picked up into a conversation. Somewhat spoiled, she is not above throwing a tantrum or pouting when things don't go her way. Everything Nadire does, she does intensely.

And as a word of warning, no joke is too terrible for her to tell. Puns are particularly adored, and more for the better if they integrate math (integrate, get it? hyukhyukhyuk).
